This site is meant to be a resource for anyone looking to get to know the local foods that grow around us and how to cook with them at home, complete with a Veggie Index organized by plant family. It is the ongoing culmination of my own curiosity, farming experience, and research, the dream resource that I wish I had.
I aim for this site to be a pleasure to peruse, a joy for the horticulturally inclined to lose hours of your evening to as well as the place you can go to get new recipe ideas and more.

Look up any vegetable and get to know plant foods from around the world, organized by plant family and crop type. This index was my pandemic project and it's unfinished, but I'm still so excited to share!
SOUTHTOWN SALADS
Join me on Tuesdays from 5-7pm, May - October at the Southtown Farmers Market in Corvallis for a big beautiful salad loaded up with seasonal flavors and textures featuring produce from our local farmers.

Hi folks! I am here to do three things. 1) completely nerd out on all things botanical, culinary, vegetable, magic, 2) help break down that bougie foodie intimidation we all know too well so we can simply learn about the fresh foods that grow around us and how to incorporate them into your cooking. And 3) Help inspire collective action amongst eaters that goes beyond voting with your fork with a big focus on farm labor.
I started this site while farming full time during the pandemic as a creative and probably therapeutic outlet, making the open-source Veggie Index of my dreams. She's a long ways from being complete and I've got more ideas for this site than are feasible while still farming, but she is certainly coming along.
